A citizenship test is an examination, written or oral, required to acquire citizenship through naturalisation in a country.
US administers a naturalization test for those who naturalize for citizenship. The test consists of two parts: english language and civics. The test was first implemented on October 1, 2009
The pass rate at national level is 91%. This also means nine out of hundred test takers fail in citizenship test according to the latest data released by USCIS (fail rate is 9%)
Applicants must must demonstrate an ability to read, write, and speak words in ordinary usage in the English language, and have a knowledge and understanding of U.S. history and government (civics)
A total of two chances will be given to pass in the test. Those who fail first time will be given one more chance.

Applicants will be tested on reading, speaking and writing on english language.
Civic test
Applicants must answer 6 out of 10 questions to pass in the civic test.
