EB-5 gets another extension to Jan 19, 2018

The EB-5 program gets another four week extension until Jan 19, 2018.

Congress has bestowed a small holiday gift for EB-5 stakeholders as both houses today voted to extend the federal budget until January 19, 2018. The Continuing Resolution (CR) was approved in the Senate by a 66-32 vote and in the House by 231-188, reported by Green and Spiegel, a toronto based law firm.

According to IIUSA, Last night, both the House and Senate passed a stopgap spending bill which will avert a government shutdown through January 19, 2018. President Trump signed the short-term spending bill into law today. This extends the current sunset date for the EB-5 Regional Center Program as well, which was supposed to expire at midnight tonight.

In a news release published by House of Appropriations, “The Continuing Resolution will extend current levels of funding for government operations through January 19, 2018, and will prevent a government shutdown. This is critical to our nation’s stability, our economy, for the continuation of programs and services the American people depend on.”
