The Employment based fifth preference (EB-5) scheme is the most popular scheme for wealthy families to become immigrate to and become permanent residents in the US.
According to State department 2017 report, Chinese top the table, followed by Vietnam, Taiwan, South Korea, India and Brazil.
Required minimum investments are:
- General. The minimum qualifying investment in the United States is $1 million.
- Targeted Employment Area (High Unemployment or Rural Area). The minimum qualifying investment either within a high-unemployment area or rural area in the United States is $500,000.
On March 23, 2018, the President signed Public Law 115-141 extending the Regional Center Program through Sep. 30, 2018.
