The UK government has published third report on the data collected on travellers departing from and arriving in the UK as part of the Home Office exit checks programme. The report records overstay rates of non-EEA nationals whose leave expired in 2017/18 had the following statuses recorded on the ISA system
According to the exit checks overstay report for the year 2017/18

Out of 1.72 million visa expiries in 2017 and 2018, 97.0% were recorded as having left in-time (e.g. before their leave expired), 3.0% were not recorded as leaving before their visa expiry date, of whom 0.5% departed after their leave had expired and 2.6% had leave expired but no departure was initially identified
- Visitors: 98.0% of those who arrived as a visitor were recorded as having left in-time.
- Students: 97.6% of those who arrived for study were recorded as having left in-time.
- Workers: 95.8% of those who arrived for employment were recorded as having left in-time.
Tier1 Investor visas
Out of 4,739 investor visa expiries, 4,051 departed in time. This equates to 85.5% of Tier1 investor visa holders left UK within their visa time, while 14.5% stayed in the UK and applied for settlement by extending their visa.
An individual who is first granted a visit visa and is later granted a [non-overlapping] investor visa, will be assessed first at the end of the visit visa and then at the end of the investor visa, so will have a status in the ISA system at two different points.
As of Sep 2018, the Home office has issued a total of 3,988 investor visas and 6,952 investor dependent visas issued since 2005, according to Home Office statistics
