New CBI funded Eco Resort coming to Dominica

The Dominica Government has officially signed an agreement with Vital developers for the construction of five star Sanctuary Rain Forest Eco Resort  in the Roseau valley.

 

The resort is expected to be constructed over a period of 36 months from date of signing and will include duplex units with a total of 72 rooms which will include: a restaurant and bar; yoga and meditation centre; a health spa; two swimming pools; reception building, lobby and boutique; laundry building; maintenance site and; parking facilities.

 

Sanctuary Rain Forest Eco Resort and Spa will be funded under the Real Estate Option of the Citizenship by Investment (CBI) Program.  Currently there are six CBI approved real estate projects in Dominica including the big ones such as Anichi, Jungle Bay, Cabrits Resort Kempinski.

 

Speaking during the signing ceremony on Monday February 11, Parliamentary Representative for the Roseau Valley constituency, Hon. Dr John Collin McIntyre said the new structure will improve the quality of life for residents of Roseau Valley.

 

“The development of this five star resort at Providence, in proximity to the Middleham Falls, will literally transform the landscape of the Roseau valley resulting in, improved quality of life and standard of living for the people of the Roseau Valley.”

 

According to Developer Mr. Alexander Berenstain, the resort will not only blend well into its environment but is also designed to be disaster proof.

 

“We will preserve all the nature around it, and we’ll save as much trees and vegetation as possible, all the structures will be blended to the environment and one of the most important things of this project is prepared that it can withstand hurricane 5 and it also can withstand up to scale 7 earthquakes.”

 

Hon. Prime Minister Dr. Roosevelt Skerrit welcomed the investment.

 

The Dominica leader, speaking at Monday’s signing explained that the project falls in line with government’s vision to maintain the island’s natural beauty.

 

“We see this project, the Sanctuary Rain Forest Eco Resort as fitting and considerate to our own vision for our country especially in the Roseau Valley; ensuring that at all stages, the environment is respected and the environment is protected. Because if we are to continue our efforts to build a climate resilient nation, if we’re to continue to promote our country as an eco-tourism destination it must not only be based on what the good Lord has given to us, but also must be what we have done to it.”
