Cyprus is a member of Euro zone since 2008 and but not a member of Schengen Area. Cyprus is a EU member country since 2004 with 6 seats in Euroepan Parliament. Recently Cyprus passport is rated as 16th powerful passport in the world with visa free access to 158 countries by Henley restrictions index. Cyprus also given 9/10 points for freedom of movement, by the CBI index rankings.
Cyprus citizenship by investment program is open to rich foreign investors who are able to invest 2 million euros in Cyprus. Investors are given a cypriot passport against the investment made in 6 months under the CBI program.
Cypriot citizens holding valid passports do NOT require a visa to enter the following countries:

- Cypriot nationals travelling to Albania and Belize will be given a visa upon arrival.
- Cypriot nationals travelling to Brunei Darussalam will be given a visa, valid for a 14-dayvisit, upon arrival.
- Cypriot nationals travelling to Gambia and Indonesia will be given a visa, valid for a 21-dayvisit, upon arrival.
- Cypriot nationals travelling to the Maldives and Malaysia will be given a visa, valid for a 30-day visit, upon arrival.
- Cypriot nationals travelling to countries NOT mentioned above, NEED TO APPLY for a Visa.
