Cyprus investor citizenship scheme pumped €3.3 billion euros into economy

The Citizenship by investment in Cyprus programme brought in €3.3 billion euros in foreign investment by the end of 2016 according to Cyprus mail..

The Cyprus permanent residency scheme providing a permanent residence permit to those buying homes worth €300,000 yielded an additional €700 million euros over the same period, bringing the overall total to €4 billion as reported by Cyprus mail.

Since 2013, when the current scheme was introduced, some 1,300 persons have been naturalised through the investor citizenship programme in Cyprus which requires 2 million euros or more investment in real estate or 5 million euro government bonds or business.
