Grenada passport becomes the most valuable CBI passport

Grenadian passport becomes the “most valuable” CBI passport in the Caribbean, after Grenada has recently signed visa waiver agreement with Russia and United Arab Emirates.

  • A visa waiver agreement was signed between Grenada and the Russian Federation on September 20, 2017 and entered into force on December 24, 2017 which allows nationals of each countries to enter visa free for 90 days in 180 day period.
  • The UAE and Grenada have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, to exempt Emirati and Grenadian nationals carrying ordinary passports from obtaining pre-entry visas.

The passport of Grenada is unique for these reasons

In a recent 2018 global ranking of passports, Grenadian passport currently has visa free access to 127 countries in the world. The Global passport ranking of Grenada is #36.

Grenada’s citizenship by investment programme is considered to be the “Gold” standard in the region. The Citizenship by Investment Programme came into being in August 2013, when the Grenadian Parliament passed Act No. 15 of 2013, otherwise referred to as the ‘Grenada Citizenship by Investment Act, 2013.’

Currently the investment requirements for fast track citizenship are

  • $150,000 contribution to National Transformation Fund
  • $350,000 property purchase in Grenada

The CEO of Citizenship by Investment Unit, recently announced during Henley conference in Hong Kong, the NTF contribution will be cut soon to $150,000 for single applicant.

The processing time is about 2 months. All Grenadian passports are valid for five years, which can then be extended at Grenadian embassy in London or at passport office in Grenada. Grenadian Citizenship once approved under CBI is lifetime, extends to investors family, spouse and children and their generations.  Grenada allows dual citizenship, and you thus do not need to renounce any previous citizenship or passport.

Buying a property under the CBI program, qualifies for permanent residence card in Grenada, along with passport. Becoming a permanent resident and citizen of Grenada, has numerous advantages, and you can prove that you can have a second home. There are some exciting property developments such as resorts, hotels available for investment.

Grenada, known as the ‘Isle of Spice,’ is composed of three key islands: Grenada and its sister islands Carriacou and Petite Martinique. Grenada attracts thousands of visitors with its jagged mountain peaks, hidden coves, spice plantations, and lush verdant rainforests. Its beaches are idyllic, with white or golden sand, palm trees, and the delicate aroma of the island’s native spices. Grenada has a population of 100,000 people. Grenada’s proximity to the Equator ensures a year-round tropical climate, with average temperatures ranging between 23 and 28 °C. Grenada is also a part of Commonwealth of Nations.

CBI Statistics  reveal Grenada received $150 million revenue since the start and the number of applications have tripled.

Grenada does not accept cryptocurrency payments such as in bitcoin for its citizenship by investment program. Some agents do accept bitcoins as their agent fee for CBI programs.
