Grenada, Dominica and St Lucia improve in Transparency International’s corruption perception Index 2017

Grenada, Saint Lucia and Dominica move up in Transparency International’s corruption perception Index 2017 rankings.

New Zealand and Denmark rank highest with scores of 89 and 88 respectively. Syria, South Sudan and Somalia rank lowest with scores of 14, 12 and 9 respectively.

The index, which ranks 180 countries and territories by their perceived levels of public sector corruption according to experts and businesspeople, uses a scale of 0 to 100, where 0 is highly corrupt and 100 is very clean.

The Government of Grenada said in a press release

Grenada’s Anti- Corruption Sector has benefitted immensely from training and assistance from the Commonwealth Secretariat, the UNODC; and the World Bank for the implementation of anti-corruption and risk management best practices at the national level during 2017.
