The Startup visa scheme is one of the cheapest and best immigration programs to immigrate to Canada for young entrepreneurs and innovative business startups. It is a better alternative to Quebec QIIP immigrant investor program.
Startup Visa Investment
- If the investment comes from a designated Canadian angel investor group, you must secure a minimum investment of $75,000.
- If the investment comes from a designated Canadian venture capital fund, you must secure a minimum investment of $200,000.
Before applying, you will need to secure a commitment from a designated Canadian angel investor group or venture capital fund to invest in your business idea. A list can be found online at cic.gc.ca/startup.
For Startup Visa, you not required to invest any of your own money. The minimum investment required is an investment that comes from a designated Canadian venture capital fund or angel investor group.
The Government of Canada does not give financial support to new Start-up Visa immigrants. The funds required to support each additional family member is $3,361.
