(JULY 20, 2018) — Hon. Mark Brantley, Premier of Nevis and Minister of Tourism, hailed the achievement of the Nisbet Plantation Beach Club in Newcastle which was named by the Travel + Leisure Magazine in its 2018 World’s Best Awards as one of the Top 25 Resort Hotels in the Caribbean, Bermuda and the Bahamas.
Mr. Brantley commended management and staff of the award-winning hotel when he spoke to the Department of Information on July 20, 2018 for their most recent accomplishment.
“As Premier of Nevis and Minister of Tourism, we are all incredibly proud of Nisbet Plantation Beach Club on a recent achievement being named among the Top 25 Resort Hotels in the Caribbean, Bermuda and the Bahamas by Travel and Leisure Magazine.
“I want to extend heartiest congratulations to the General Manager Tim Thuell and the entire staff. Well done Nisbet!” he said.
Amy Kerr, the hotel’s Director of Public Relations, stated that the property is the only one in St. Kitts and Nevis which is named on the list.
“The eight-time award winner is the only St. Kitts-Nevis resort to be named to this year’s coveted list. The intimate Nevis resort is ranked No. 13 in the Top 25 Resort Hotels in the Caribbean, Bermuda and the Bahamas. The intimate Nevis resort is joined at No. 14 by sister property, The Reefs Resort & Club, located in Bermuda.

Sharing in the excitement, Nisbet Plantation’s island home of Nevis ranked No. 13 on Travel + Leisure’s Top 15 Islands in the Caribbean, Bermuda and the Bahamas,” she said.
In response to the award, Ms. Kerr quoted Mr. Thuell registering his regard for the staff who made the guest experience a reality.

The hotel was named Hotel of the Year by the Ministry of Tourism for two consecutive years in 2016 and 2017 at its Awards Gala and Dance. The event is held annually to give recognition to the top partners in the tourism industry on Nevis.
