Moldova sets eligibility criteria for CIP applicants

 

Chisinau, 20 August – The Government of Moldova today approved the mechanism for implementing the Program for acquiring citizenship by investment in Moldova.

 

Under the document, people who have not been accused before the International Criminal Court, are not prosecuted by the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL), are not a potential threat to national independence or security, have not got incomes from criminal activities and have not been guilty of committing terrorist offenses will be able to apply to the programme.

 

The document also sees that minimum contribution grants to fund of public investment for sustainable development for a main applicant who is 18 years is the equivalent of 100, 000 euros. At the same time, the minimum value of the investment in at least one of the strategic development areas of the Republic of Moldova will be 250,000 euros.

 

At the same time, the project provides for setting up of the Citizenship Acquisition Program Implementation Unit, with additional functions for the Public Services Agency, which will provide assistance to the Commission under the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure.

 

The Minister of Economy and Infrastructure, Mr. Chiril Gaburici, noted that this document includes the structure of the Program, the technical processes and necessary legislative changes, the procedures and forms of application, the specific and detailed requirements, the formal policies and procedures to be included in the normative framework, achievement.

 

“Through this project, the general requirements and eligibility criteria of the applicants for the Program, the conditions and the conditions for checking their fulfillment, including the good economic and financial reputation, the exact number of documents  to be submitted by the applicants, “explained Chiril Gaburici.

 

Minister Cyril Gaburici mentioned that the implementation of this project does not require the allocation of additional funds.

 

At the same time, this project amends and supplements Annex no. 1 of the Government Decision no. 314/2017 regarding the establishment of the Public Services Agency (Citizenship by Investment Unit)
