Chinese and Russians visa exempt to visit UAE for 30 days

The UAE Government has given visa exemption for nationals from China and Russia to visit United Arab Emirates. A 30 day visa on arrival is granted free of charge and also renewable.

 

According to UAE Government, citizens of the following countries can get a 30-day visit visa on arrival, free of charge and renewable for similar period.

  • Andorra
  • Australia
  • Brunei
  • Canada
  • Hong Kong
  • Ireland
  • Japan
  • Malaysia
  • Mauritius
  • Monaco
  • New Zealand
  • People’s Republic of China
  • Russian Federation
  • San Marino
  • Singapore
  • Ukraine
  • United Kingdom
  • United States of America
  • Vatican City

China

China passport is becoming more valuable and has climbed 10 spots to rank at 75th place in the latest Henley Passport Index, an annual passport ranking by citizenship planning firm Henley and Partners.  Chinese tourism overseas has become a major force in recent years with chinese tourists spent a total of around $110 billion overseas in 2016. In January 2018, UAE and China signed visa waiver agreement granting Emirati nationals visa exemption to visit China.

Chinese citizens were already given visa exemption to number of Caribbean countries such as

  • St Kitts and Nevis (90 days)
  • Antigua and Barbuda (30 days)
  • Bahamas (3 months)
  • Barbados (30 days)
  • Dominica (21 days)
  • Jamaica (30 days)
  • Saint Lucia (6 weeks)
  • Grenada (30 days)
  • Vanuatu (30 days)

  • Tunisia on 15 February 2017,
  • Barbados on 1 June 2017,
  • United Arab Emirates on 16 January 2018,
  • Bosnia and Herzegovina on 29 May 2018,
  • British Virgin Islands on 5 July 2018, St Lucia on 18 July 2018 and
  • Belarus on 10 August 2018.

Russia

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said today, Russia will take steps to make visa waiver agreements with all countries are an important part of Russia’s foreign policy activities.  Russia has signed visa waiver agreements with several countries in the caribbean such as St Kitts, Grenada and Dominica (soon).  Russia and UAE signed visa exemption in July 2018 to boost tourism, investment and trade.

Russia is also discussing visa waiver with Japan.

 

In 2018, UAE adopted significant measures granting 10 year residence visas to investors and said allowing 100% foreign ownership in UAE businesses.

 

UAE ranks 7th in world competitiveness report and Emirati passport is one of the best travel documents in the world.
