The last intake period for Quebec immigrant investor applications ends this month as of Aug 31, 2019. The deadline has already been extended before.
The maximum number of applications for permanent selection that will be accepted for processing under the Investor Program is 1,900 for the period from September 10, 2018, to August 31, 2019.
A maximum of 1,235 applications from foreign nationals from the People’s Republic of China, including the administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macao, will be accepted.
Quebec immigrant investor candidates who demonstrate, by submitting results of a test recognized by the Ministère, that they have an advanced intermediate knowledge of French oral expression and oral comprehension are not subject to this maximum and can submit their application at any time until October 31, 2019. These applications will receive priority processing.
Last year, Quebec made important changes to the investor scheme increasing the necessary threshold for investments.
- Investment amount has increased to CAD $1,200,000 (previously $800,000).
- Must have net assets of at least CAD $2,000,000 (previously $1,600,000);
According to the Quebec immigration statistics, since 2006, a total of 40,380 admissions were approved under the immigrant investor program with over 90% applying from Asia lead by chinese.
From 2018, Quebec restricted admissions by imposing quota limits to 1900 applicants.
