St Kitts has signed a signed a joint communique officially establishing diplomatic relations with Republic of North Macedonia bringing the two countries closer together with diplomacy.
The communique was signed between St. Kitts and Nevis High Commission in London, High Commissioner, His Excellency Dr Kevin M. Isaac and Her Excellency Ms. Aleksandra Miovska Ambassador of the Republic of North Macedonia to the United Kingdom.
Her Excellency expressed interest in sports and culture of St Kitts and Nevis.
Since 2005, North Macedonia also been a candidate country for joining the European Union and has applied for NATO membership, expected to join the latter by the end of 2019.
The small landlocked country former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (abbreviated as FYR Macedonia and FYROM) was renamed as North Macedonia in Feb 2019, resolving its conflicts with Greece, commencing new relations. The capital and largest city, Skopje, is home to roughly a quarter of the nation’s 2.06 million inhabitants.
St Kitts citizens already have visa free access to North Macedonia, according to Foreign ministry. Among the CBI countries in the Caribbean, only St Kitts and Grenada nationals have visa waivers with North Macedonia. All other countries Grenada, St Lucia and Dominica require visas to visit North Macedonia.
North Macedonia citizens have visa free access to more than 120+ countries including visa free access to EU schengen and member states.
North Macedonia announced a citizenship by investment program in 2018 for anyone who invests 400,000 and creating 10 jobs.
