Today, Montenegro government has officially published list of four hotel and tourism development projects that are eligible for investment under the Special citizenship by admission scheme of Montenegro.
The list official construction of hotels and resorts approved by Government of Montenegro are
- Condo Hotel „Kolašin Resort & Spa“, Kolašin
- Condo Hotel Breza, Kolašin
- Hotel Kraljičina plaža“, Miločer, Budva
- Durmitor Hotel and Villas“, Žabljak
Foreigners investing a minimum $250,000 or more in these hotels are eligible for special citizenship of Montenegro. The Montenegro Citizenship by Investment Program (MCIP) is limited to 2000 applications and will run only until Dec 31, 2021.
The Montenegro citizenship scheme was launched based on Investment + Donation model according to a government decision in Nov 2018. The intake of applications has already commenced under test phase in Nov 2019.
Montenegro has officially appointed marketing agents and due diligence providers for efficient vetting of applicants. The MCIP scheme was designed within the government institutions of Montenegro and expected to bring close to €1 billion revenues for Montenegro which will be spent on the economic development of Northern Montenegro.
The Government has diversified investments into agriculture, fishing, wood processing besides investing in hotels and tourism development projects. All these investment categories with investments of over €2m will qualify for citizenship.
Montenegro is already a candidate country on track to join European Union and Schengen area in the future by 2025. The current property prices in Montenegro is one of the lowest in Europe and most desirable to invest for passport in Montenegro.
