The Prime Minister of Montenegro, Dusko Markovic participated in London Henley conference promoting the newly launched citizenship by investment scheme in the country.
He made a presentation to investors around the world saying it was an opportunity to send a message to renowned business people from all over the world that Montenegro is a prestigious investment destination and desirable country for investing capital.
“There is no better opportunity than to present the potential of Montenegro in London, one of the largest business centers in the world where business people from both the East and the West meet. I am very pleased that great interest has been expressed in our programme and that this interest will surely be translated into concrete initiatives and concrete procedures that will contribute to the development of projects in the tourism and agriculture sector and thus stimulate further growth of our economy and development,” the Prime Minister said following his address at the conference.
He stated that this programme would not only encourage new investments but also provide additional money for the development of capital infrastructure.
PM Marković emphasised the fact that CIP model is unique and that due to the engagement of high-quality marketing agencies and security checks there is no possibility of compromising the project.
“Everyone here is convinced that our programme is unique, that it is not the sale of real estate and property in order to achieve rapid inflow of money into budget, but to secure the long-term inflow of money into the budget, that we have provided transparency and legality and security of investment,” Prime Minister Duško Marković said at the end of the conference.
The Montenegro CIP requires applicants to invest EUR 250,000 in real estate projects plus pay additional EUR 100,000 to a fund used for development of Montenegro.
The program recently generated great interest being Montenegro a candidate country for accession to EU and schengen area by 2025. The property prices currently Montenegro is currently lowest in Europe, a best time to invest in the local property market.
