Greece shuts immigration offices due to Coronavirus

Greece has announced that immigration offices will be temporarily shut down from 12/03/2020 until 10/04/2020 according a ministerial decision taken to curb the spread of coronavirus. No new applications will be accepted due to the measures includes golden visa applicants.

 

Taking into account the need to take measures to protect public health in order to prevent and limit the spread of the corona virus (COVID-19), infrastructure is suspended” said the decision.

Residence permits that expire during the period of validity of the measures and for reasons of force majeure it will not be possible renewing them. In this regard, a deadline will be set for submitting the application for or renewing the residence permits in question,

 

In this regard, the office continues to accept documents by mail. In view of the issuance of the ministerial decision of article 8, paragraph 3 of Law 4251114, please ensure that additional documents can be sent by third-country nationals for pending applications to your services by registered mail. or through courier companies

 

Third-country nationals are considered to be legally resident in the country and no expulsion decisions should be issued during that time due to expiry of residence permits

 

Third-country nationals who have entered the country with a national entry visa or any other visa, no new applications can be filed!
