The Iranian government launched Golden visa scheme granting residency visas to foreign investors in June 2019.
Foreign applicants who invest at least $250,000 or equivalent in other currencies in banks and credit institutions with long-term deposits or as much in Iran will be issued a five-year residence permit after approval by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance.
On 5 April 2022, the Government eased the conditions for foreign investors applying for five-year residence permits by reducing the minimum investment requirements from $250,000 to $90,000. The rule also includes executives and foreign technicians employed by overseas firms as well as their spouses and children.
Foreigners can use their friends or relatives, companies, organizations and travel agencies in Iran or submit all necessary documents to the embassy.
Foreigners who have made long-term investments in the past can also benefit from the new rule and investors can refer to the organization’s website at investiniran.ir to submit their application forms.
Iran also offers visa aimed at attracting startups, innovation and foreign investment due to deteriorating economy amidst US sanctions.
