Discussions currently underway for reinstatement of UK visa-free travel, says Dominica PM

The Prime Minister of Dominica, PM SKerrit during his visit to Dubai, underlined the importance of CBI, adhering to regulations and laws, reinforcing the government’s dedication to ethical conduct.   

On his speech, he touched the important matter of visa waiver suspension with United Kingdom.

“Discussions are currently underway to explore the reinstatement of visa-free travel from the United Kingdom to Dominica. These ongoing talks aim to address the potential restoration of visa-free access, enhancing travel ease and promoting closer ties between the two nations. “

“We go the extra mile in ensuring that we maintain the high governance principles of this programme.”, he said during his address.

PM Skerrit reiterated the importance of full compliance with regulations, stressing that citizenship is “not a commodity”, subject to sales promotions but a matter of constitutional sanctity.  Applicants must contribute the full amount as legislated in the regulations, he said.

In his keynote speech, he said Commonwealth of Dominica is committed to unity, transparency, and mutual respect in building a resilient and prosperous future for Dominica with its global partners.
