class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;We are protecting our nation and its citizens by using rigorous, security-focused screening and vetting procedures to ensure that individuals approved for a visa do not endanger national security or public safety.\u00a0&#8220;<br><br>State Department<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Immigrant Visas<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Effective January 21, 2026, the Department of State is pausing all visa issuances to <strong>immigrant visa applicants<\/strong> who are nationals of the following countries:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Antigua and Barbuda. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Dominica, <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Egypt, <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Grenada, <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Jordan, <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">North Macedonia, \u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Saint Kitts and Nevis, <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Saint Lucia, <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Sierra Leone<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Non-Immigrant Visas<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Effective January 1, 2026, at 12:01 a.m. EST, in line with Presidential Proclamation 10998 on \u201cRestricting and Limiting the Entry of Foreign Nationals to Protect the Security of the United States,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>B-1\/B-2 visitor visas and F, M, J student and exchange visitor visas, and all immigrant visas<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Antigua and Barbuda<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Commonwealth of Dominica<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Visa Bonds<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Department of State has identified nationals from these countries as needing visa bonds.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Antigua and Barbuda (January 21, 2026)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Dominica (January 21, 2026)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Sao Tome and Principe (October 23, 2025)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Vanuatu (January 21,
